Tidiane Soumah, CEO and Founder of Tidiane World Music Productions, is a leading figure in the international music and entertainment industry with over 32 years of experience. His remarkable career, which spans decades of groundbreaking work in event production and artist management, has earned him a prominent place in the global cultural landscape.

 

Soumah's journey began in 1987 at Gamal Abdel Nasser University of Conakry, where he earned a degree in sociology and played an instrumental role in founding key cultural initiatives. He served as President of UNIPROS, the University for the Promotion of Shows, and Vice-President of USOGUI, the Union of Sociologists of Guinea, where he laid the foundation for his future in cultural promotion.

 

Between 1990 and 1995, Soumah worked as a consultant and assistant in information and communication at UNICEF Guinea, while also serving as the Administrative and Financial Director of Chetiba Promotion Agency. His commitment to social development saw him lead the Guardian Angels project, a youth training initiative in Conakry supported by the US Embassy.

In 1993, Tidiane Soumah co-founded Gray Gray Productions and went on to establish Tidiane World Music Productions, which he continues to lead today. Over the past 25 years, his agency has produced more than 600 concerts, featuring over 50 international stars, including icons like Youssou N'Dour, Salif Keita, Alpha Blondy, Davido, Wizkid, and Aya Nakamura, among others.

 

Soumah has also provided a platform for over 500 young Guinean music groups, fostering talent and giving them the opportunity to perform internationally. His company has supported the international tours of more than 40 Guinean artists, contributing to nearly 1,000 performances worldwide.

Soumah’s achievements extend beyond concert promotion. He was awarded the D'MBA 90 96 as the best entertainment agency in Guinea and the Special Jury Prize for Best Manager at the Djembé d'Or in 2002. He has been a key player in Canadian music programming, serving as the director of programming for KOLA NOTE, a major African music venue, and leading programming for Montreal’s International Night Festival from 2001 to 2007.

His career includes numerous prestigious roles, such as being a member of the JUNO Prize Committee in Canada (equivalent to the Grammy Awards in the USA), the founding president of FESTIRAAM: International Rhythm Festival of Africa and the West Indies in Montreal, and the creator of the Grand African Ball of Montreal: GRABAM PARTY.

 

Tidiane Soumah has also managed several top-tier African artists, including Sekouba Bambino, and worked as a consultant for major festivals in Angola and Tunisia. Since 2004, he has been the Canadian agent for Alpha Blondy and the Solar System. In 2018, he co-managed Les Ballets Africains of Guinea, further expanding his influence in the world of African arts and culture.
